Joss whedon Dollhouse roundup...

Ok, I watched the first Dollhouse episode last night, and my consensus is like everyone else's I've read so far. It was slow to start and it's not a quick witted as some of the other Whedon shows we've come to know and love yet. However I liked the pilot and it intrigued me enough to come back and watch it next week.

Familiar faces:

First off Fox moved Sarah Connor Chronicles to 8 pm on Friday (Eastern) as the lead in. For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about the Terminator in that show is played by Summer Glau who played as River Tam in Firefly . Eliza Dushku heads up in the Dollhouse as Echo. We saw her before as Faith in BtVS. Amy Acker plays the doctor in the Dollhouse (IMDB says the character's name is Dr. Claire Saunders). Those who follow Whedon will remember her as Fred from Angel. These are the obvious Whedon ties so far. Then there were a few people that looked really familiar otherwise but I couldn't place them with where I'd seen them recently. IMDB is my favorite. The Lady who runs the Dollhouse program is actress Olivia Williams. I'd last sen her in X3 as Dr. Moira McTaggert. Echo's Handler Boyd is played by actor Harry Lennix. He's been in too many things to count, but the last two places I'd seen him on TV was 24 and Commander-in-Chief. And as an IMDB bonus : He wasn't in the pilot ep, but coming soon to the Dollhouse is Mark Sheppard, better known as Badger from Firefly.

We'll see who Whedon pulls for season two ;)

I've been keeping up with all of you fairly well, but my posting has been well lacking I suppose.

Tomorrow is Thursday, which means pay day and Grey's with the boys. I am highly amused by the fact that so far this season I've watched the show with a group of men. We're adding a new female member to the mix tomorrow.

I need to go shopping badly! I've been needing a mall run for like weeks and nothing. I'm starting to think maybe Filene's would be a good starter and then tysons, because it is my crack. Also It's only 41 days until Christmas, and teh hell if I know what to do/get for it.

Also who's gonna be in town around then? because I am off of work from the 25th of Dec until the New Year and aside from holidays and my birthday, I'll need a fair amount of fun time intermingled with my relaxing. Leave comment or call me.

So far 2008 is wide open for weekends/visiting except for one weekend in January and a week in May or so. Please give me a few weeks notice as my scheduling as of late has been busy.

I suppose not much else has been going on other than busy weekends followed by busy weeks.
Life's been happening while I've been making plans. course the plans are why I have only 3 full weekends until the end of the year with absolutely nothing left in them. there are a lot of Sundays still open for those of you trying to get a visit with me. Contact me for dates. I did actually chop my hair, so that's off the list and except for a few left I've paid the bills. No sewing has happened as yet, which is annoying me, but I have to clean before I can do that, which involves laundry which I should be 75 percent done with after tonight and hopefully 100 percent done with after the weekend. this is so I can sort out what I do not want/does not fit anymore and give it off to Jo when I see her later next month.

Other than that, L bought a house, which is yay. it's small but perfect for him for now. Only problem is the cabinets in the kitchen are too tall for me to reach the top shelf. oh well, it's what I get for being a shorty. We're planning an IKEA run Saturday and gonna go see Resident Evil before he flies out on business Sunday.

There's the whirlwind tour of my life recently.

I went to Richmond for Josh and Ginny's wedding this weekend. Ginny's dress was absolutely beautiful and I couldn't be happier for the two of them. When I was first seated in the church i was mistakenly sat where the grooms family went ;) I'm "family" just not blood.

Went to BG for Friday night and today. I have now ridden the newest coaster 7 times in the four times i' ve been there on my pass. Speakin of which it dies Sept 3rd and I'd love to go with a bunch of people. so let me know. next weekend is no good. Let me know what's good and we'll go from there.

I think it is time to flop now. g'night

I love amusement parks. I really love roller coasters.

That being said this is what I rode today at Kings Dominion:

-Rebel Yell - 6 times (2 forward, 4 backward, would have been more backwards, but they didnt open the backwards line until 12 noon, and then they closed it for reasons unbeknownst to us as we were about to do round 7)

-Grizzly - 3 times
-Volcano - 1 time, was the longest wait of the day, most of the coasters we pretty much walked right on.
-Flight of Fear - 1 time - frieking awesome, 2nd longest wait, but was inside.
-Anaconda- 1 time, next time will have to stay the whole day and ride in dark, that's when it's the best
-Hurler - 2 times, much fun.

Not ridden:
Hypersonic: long line, didnt actually look all that fun
Shockwave: long line
Italian Job: long line

And a good day overall not too humid and good fun with a friend. If anyone wants to do a second day with me I would not be opposed to going again sometime this season. There may be a trip down in October for their Halloween thing.

Meme:

1. My user name is mystymoonsilver because:
I chose an alias of Mystycal Moonsilver back in my freshman year of college for on-line things and the like.

2. My journal is titled "The Journey" because:
Life is a journey. It takes you many places sometimes far from home and it's good to have companions along the way.

3. My subtitle is "The road less traveled by..." because:
It's part of a Robert Frost poem, about coming to a crossroads on a path in the woods and taking the road less traveled and it making all the difference in the world to him. I liked it because my life is kind of like that. I generally do not make myself do what is considered the norm, rather what will make my life that much more fulfilling.

4. My friends page is called "Friends" because:
I haven't come up with anything more interesting.

5. My default user pic is Willow because:
Ben (diamond_dust06) made this one. I like it because I love the character Willow from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and because it's one of my favorite lines from the fifth season.

So I'm trying to come up with a good list of cars to test drive and compare before I purchase one later this month. Am trying to wait until the 28th to actually buy, so that i only have one 6 month period of high insurance before my rates drop a bit at the gilded age of 25.

On my list so far:
Honda Civic/ Civic Hybrid ( years roughly 2002-2004ish)
Chevrolet Aveo ( 4 door, not hatchback)
Toyota Prius ( way out of my price range but still want to test drive for the heck of it)

So see really short list.

Any opinions on the above? any suggestions for other models to try?

My criteria: Fuel Economy I want good gas mileage (read close to 30 city), Price under 12,000, Year somewhere 2000 or above, car must be automatic.

Well guess that's it for now. I'll try to post more soon like about my OMG awesome trip to Busch Gardens.
